Ernie Schroeder, Jr. born in Bakersfield, California and fifth generation raised in the San Joaquin Valley graduated from Pepperdine University with a BS in Business Administration.  After extensive training at Rhodes College Cotton School, the New York Cotton Exchange Floor, several International Cotton Companies and the Harvard Business School, he assumed management of Jess Smith & Sons Cotton. 

Ernie is a director of Cotton Council International, a 3-segment member and director to the National Cotton Council, traveled around the world on several Supima delegations, a joint owner of The Seam, a member and former advisor to the California Cotton Growers Association, ICA member, TCA member, Past President of the Western Cotton Shippers Association, and currently is Vice Chairman of the American Cotton Shippers Association.

Ernie is CEO of Jess Smith & Sons Cotton, Bakersfield Cotton Warehouse and Jess Smith & Sons Commodities dealing in Almond & Pistachio farming, processing and marketing.

As many of you know Ernie enjoys golf and spending time with his family.  Ernie and his wife Jennifer have one child; Eric who is a freshman in college.
